Description

This Beef Pizza Pie combines the rich flavors of seasoned ground beef with classic pizza toppings, all nestled in a flaky crescent roll crust. Perfect for a quick and satisfying dinner, this recipe blends savory beef, melted mozzarella, and your favorite pizza ingredients into a comforting pie that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat Mixture

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 1 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Pie Base & Toppings

  • 1 package (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell peppers

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the pizza pie.
  2. Cook Beef Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and diced onion until the beef is browned and the onion softens. Drain any excess fat to keep the pie from being greasy.
  3. Season Beef: Stir in pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper into the skillet. Allow the mixture to simmer for 5 minutes to meld the flavors.
  4. Prepare Crust: Unroll the refrigerated crescent roll dough and press it firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9-inch pie dish, forming the crust for the pizza pie.
  5. Assemble Pie: Evenly spoon the seasoned beef mixture into the prepared crust, spreading it to cover the base.
  6. Add Toppings: Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the beef, then layer with pepperoni slices, black olives, and chopped bell peppers for classic pizza flavors.
  7. Bake: Place the pie in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Cool & Serve: Allow the pie to cool for a few minutes after baking to set before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • You can add or substitute toppings such as mushrooms, onions, or different types of cheese to customize your pizza pie.
  • Drain excess fat thoroughly to prevent sogginess in the crust.
  • If you prefer a crispier crust, bake an additional 3-5 minutes while watching closely to avoid burning.
  • For a spicier version, add crushed red pepper flakes or replace some pepperoni with spicy sausage slices.
  • Leftovers can be reheated in the oven or microwave for quick meals later.
