Description

Enjoy a refreshing and fruity twist on traditional iced tea with this Cherry-Berry Iced Tea recipe. Perfect for hot summer days or as a special treat, this homemade fruit-infused tea is bursting with flavor and color.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Tea:

  • 4 cups water
  • 3 black tea bags

For the Berry Concentrate:

  • 1 cup frozen cherries
  • 1 cup mixed frozen berries (such as raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries)
  • 2–3 tablespoons honey or sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Additional:

  • 2 cups cold water or ice cubes
  • fresh mint and lemon slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Tea: In a medium saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, add tea bags, and steep for 5 minutes. Remove tea bags and set the tea aside.
  2. Make the Berry Concentrate: In another saucepan over medium heat, combine the frozen cherries, mixed berries, and sweetener. Cook for 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the fruit softens and releases its juices. Mash gently with a spoon or fork to break down the fruit. Stir in the lemon juice, then strain the berry mixture through a fine mesh sieve into a large pitcher, discarding solids.
  3. Combine and Chill: Pour the brewed tea into the pitcher with the berry concentrate. Add 2 cups of cold water or ice and stir well. Chill for at least 1 hour before serving. Serve over ice and garnish with fresh mint or lemon slices if desired.

Notes

  • For a sparkling version, replace the cold water with chilled sparkling water before serving.
  • You can also steep the tea directly in a berry-infused syrup for deeper flavor.
