Ingredients
Scale
Chicken
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Sauce
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 package (5.2 oz) Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken breasts dry and season both sides generously with salt and pepper to enhance the flavor.
- Sear the Chicken: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and fully cooked through, about 5-7 minutes per side depending on thickness. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
- Sauté Garlic: In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, taking care not to burn the garlic.
- Deglaze the Pan: Pour in the chicken broth and use a wooden spoon to scrape up any browned bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. This adds deep flavor to the sauce.
- Make the Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low and stir in the heavy cream and Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese. Stir gently until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth and creamy.
- Simmer Chicken in Sauce: Return the cooked chicken breasts to the skillet, spoon the sauce over them, and simmer for 3-5 minutes. This warms the chicken through again and allows the flavors to meld beautifully.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the chicken and sauce before serving to add a pop of color and fresh herbaceous taste.
Notes
- For a thicker sauce, simmer it a bit longer before adding the chicken back in.
- To make this dish lighter, substitute half-and-half for heavy cream, though the sauce will be less rich.
- Serve with rice, mashed potatoes, or crusty bread to soak up the delicious sauce.
- Make sure not to overcook the chicken to keep it juicy and tender.
