Description

Cranberry Brie Bites are delightful holiday appetizers featuring flaky puff pastry filled with creamy Brie cheese and tangy whole berry cranberry sauce. Topped with crunchy pecans and fragrant rosemary, these bite-sized treats combine sweet and savory flavors perfect for festive gatherings or easy entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale

Pastry

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

Filling

  • 4 oz Brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/2 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

Toppings

  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional for drizzling)
  • Flour for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly flour a surface to roll out the puff pastry, ensuring it won’t stick during preparation.
  2. Prepare puff pastry: Roll the thawed puff pastry sheet slightly to even out the thickness, then cut it into 24 equal squares to fit into the mini muffin tin.
  3. Assemble bites: Place each puff pastry square into the wells of a mini muffin tin. Add a cube of Brie cheese into each pastry square, then top with about 1 teaspoon of cranberry sauce. If desired, sprinkle a few chopped pecans and a pinch of finely chopped fresh rosemary on top for added texture and flavor.
  4. Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 13 to 15 minutes, or until the puff pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the Brie cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove from the oven and let the bites cool slightly before carefully removing them from the muffin tin. Drizzle each bite with honey if you want a touch of sweetness before serving.

Notes

  • You can prepare these bites ahead by assembling them and refrigerating unbaked for a few hours before baking.
  • For a nut-free version, omit the pecans without affecting the overall flavor significantly.
  • Use fresh rosemary for the best aroma; dried rosemary can be too overpowering in this delicate bite.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor balance between melted Brie and crisp puff pastry.
