Description

These Easter Dirt Cups are a delightful no-bake dessert perfect for the spring season. Layers of chocolate pudding, crushed cookies, and fluffy whipped topping are topped with green coconut ‘grass’ and candy eggs, making them a fun and festive treat for Easter gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale

For the pudding layer:

  • 1 (3.9-ounce) box instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups cold milk

For the topping:

  • 1 (8-ounce) container whipped topping (thawed)
  • 15 chocolate sandwich cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • Green food coloring
  • Pastel candy eggs or chocolate eggs
  • Bunny or chick-shaped marshmallow candies (optional)
  • Small clear plastic cups for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the pudding: In a medium bowl, whisk together the instant pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened.
  2. Add whipped topping: Gently fold in the whipped topping until smooth and creamy.
  3. Create ‘grass’: In a separate bowl, mix the shredded coconut with green food coloring until it resembles grass.
  4. Assemble: Spoon a layer of crushed cookies into each cup, followed by a layer of pudding mixture. Repeat layers, finishing with crushed cookies on top. Sprinkle green coconut over each cup.
  5. Decorate and chill: Add candy eggs and marshmallow bunnies or chicks. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can use vanilla or pastel-colored pudding for a different look.
  • Hide a candy egg inside the layers for a surprise element.
