Ingredients
Scale
Beef Mixture
- 1 pound ground beef
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
Wraps
- 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas
- 4 slices American cheese
- 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
- 1 tablespoon ketchup
- 16 sliced pickles
- 1 tablespoon melted butter, plus extra for brushing
Instructions
- Cook the Ground Beef: In a large pan over medium heat, add the ground beef along with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully browned and cooked through. Once done, remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.
- Prepare Tortillas: Soften the tortillas by microwaving them covered with a damp paper towel for about 20-30 seconds. This makes them more pliable for wrapping. Then evenly spread mayonnaise and ketchup over each tortilla to add moisture and flavor.
- Assemble Wraps: On each tortilla, layer four slices of pickle, one slice of American cheese, and the cooked ground beef. Roll the tortillas snugly like burritos, ensuring all fillings are wrapped inside. Brush the outside of each wrap with melted butter to help achieve a golden crust when cooking.
- Air Fry: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Place the assembled wraps seam side down in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook for 8-10 minutes or until the tortillas are golden brown and crispy. Optionally, brush the wraps again with melted butter halfway through cooking for an extra rich finish.
- Serve: Remove the wraps from the air fryer and let them cool for a minute or two. Slice in half if desired, then serve immediately while warm and enjoy the cheesy, savory goodness.
Notes
- Use flour tortillas for best wrapping results; corn tortillas may crack during cooking.
- Feel free to substitute American cheese with cheddar or your favorite melting cheese.
- To add more veggies, consider adding shredded lettuce or diced tomatoes after cooking.
- For a spicy kick, add a dash of hot sauce or crushed red pepper flakes to the beef while cooking.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer basket; cook in batches if necessary.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the air fryer for a few minutes to crisp them back up.
