  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. Make brownie layer: Melt 1/2 cup butter, then mix in granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Pour into prepared pan.
  3. Prepare cookie layer: Cream butter with sugars, then mix in egg and vanilla. Combine dry ingredients and gradually add to wet mixture. Fold in chocolate chips.
