For the Hoisin Chicken:
- 1 pound boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- ¼ cup hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon honey (optional)
For Serving:
- 2 cups cooked white or brown rice
- 1 cup steamed broccoli
- 1 carrot, julienned or shredded
- 2 green onions, sliced
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the Chicken: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Add garlic and ginger and sauté.
- Make the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and honey. Pour over chicken and simmer until thickened.
- Assemble: Divide rice between bowls. Top with hoisin chicken, steamed broccoli, carrots, and green onions. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
