  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven and prepare pan: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. Mix dry ingredients: Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl.
  3. Cream butter and sugar: In a large bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add wet ingredients: Mix in eggs one at a time, then add sour cream, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. Combine wet and dry: Gradually stir in the dry ingredients until just combined. Gently fold in diced apples.
  6. Make swirl mixture: Mix brown sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  7. Layer batter and swirl mixture: Pour half the batter into the pan, sprinkle half the cinnamon-sugar mix, add remaining batter, and top with the rest of the cinnamon-sugar mix. Swirl gently with a knife.
  8. Bake: Bake for 50–60 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before slicing.
