Description

Kool-Aid Pickles, also known as Koolickles, are a quirky and sweet-sour snack that combines the tangy crunch of dill pickles with the fruity sweetness of Kool-Aid. These colorful pickles are a fun and unexpected treat that are easy to make at home.

Ingredients

Scale

Dill Pickle Spears:

  • 1 jar (32 ounces)

Brine:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packet (0.13 ounces) unsweetened Kool-Aid drink mix (any flavor)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Brine: Drain the liquid from the jar of pickles into a medium bowl. Add the sugar, water, and Kool-Aid mix to the pickle brine and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Marinate the Pickles: Return the pickle spears to the jar and pour the flavored brine back over them, ensuring the pickles are fully submerged. Seal the jar tightly and refrigerate for at least 5–7 days, turning the jar occasionally to evenly distribute the flavor.
  3. Serve: Serve the Kool-Aid pickles chilled as a tangy-sweet snack.

Notes

  • For a stronger flavor, let the pickles marinate for up to 2 weeks.
  • Experiment with different Kool-Aid flavors to create unique color and taste combinations.
