Ingredients
Lasagna Noodles:
1 box (16 oz) San Giorgio® Lasagna noodles
Meat Sauce:
1 pound ground beef, 1 medium onion (chopped), 2 cloves garlic (minced), 1 jar (24 oz) pasta sauce or marinara sauce, 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce, 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Ricotta Filling:
1 container (15 oz) ricotta cheese, 1 large egg, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (or 1 tablespoon dried)
Cheese Layer:
3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Preheat oven to 375°F.
- Cook Noodles: Cook San Giorgio Lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain and lay flat on a clean towel.
- Prepare Meat Sauce: Cook ground beef, onion, and garlic in a skillet. Add pasta sauce, tomato sauce, seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer.
- Make Ricotta Filling: Combine ricotta, egg, and parsley in a bowl.
- Assemble Lasagna: Layer meat sauce, noodles, ricotta mixture, mozzarella, and Parmesan. Repeat layers. Top with remaining noodles, sauce, and cheeses.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Uncover and bake for an additional 15–20 minutes until golden.
- Rest and Serve: Let stand for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
