Description

This Slow Cooker Spinach Artichoke Dip is a creamy, cheesy appetizer perfect for parties or casual gatherings. Made with spinach, artichoke hearts, cream cheese, sour cream, and a blend of cheeses, it cooks slowly to create a warm, delicious dip that pairs wonderfully with chips, bread, or vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale

Vegetables and Produce

  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen chopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
  • 1 (14-ounce) can artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced

Dairy

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Condiments and Spices

  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Add the thawed, squeezed spinach, chopped artichoke hearts, cream cheese cubes, sour cream, mayonnaise, shredded mozzarella, grated Parmesan, minced garlic, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using) into a small slow cooker (3-4 quart size). Stir gently to combine the ingredients as best as you can.
  2. Cook Slowly: Cover the slow cooker and set it to low heat. Cook the mixture for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice during the cooking process to ensure even heating and melting of the cheese. Continue cooking until the dip is hot, bubbly, and creamy.
  3. Final Stir and Serve: Once the dip is fully cooked and cheeses have melted, stir thoroughly to combine all ingredients evenly. Set the slow cooker to ‘warm’ mode to keep the dip at the perfect serving temperature. Serve the dip with tortilla chips, sliced baguette, crackers, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream to create a lighter version of this dip.
  • For extra flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice or mix in some shredded pepper jack cheese.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and gently reheated before serving again.
