Description

A rich and comforting stovetop creamy ground beef pasta made with tender pasta, savory ground beef, and a blend of cheeses in a creamy tomato sauce. Perfect for an easy weeknight dinner packed with flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Meat and Vegetables

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

Seasonings and Sauces

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 3 cups beef broth

Pasta and Dairy

  • 8 oz pasta (penne or rotini)
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Garnish

  • 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Brown the beef: Heat olive oil in a large deep skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon. Drain excess grease if needed.
  2. Sauté aromatics: Add diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook for 2–3 minutes until softened and fragrant.
  3. Add seasonings: Stir in tomato paste, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another minute to blend the flavors.
  4. Cook pasta in broth: Pour in beef broth and stir in the pasta. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10–12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the pasta is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  5. Finish with cream and cheese: Stir in heavy cream, shredded cheddar, and grated Parmesan. Cook for another 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and the sauce becomes creamy.
  6. Garnish and serve: Sprinkle chopped parsley on top if desired, then serve the creamy ground beef pasta warm.

Notes

  • Use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
  • Add spinach or peas for extra vegetables and nutrients.
  • For a spicy kick, add crushed red pepper flakes or substitute pepper jack cheese.
