- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Hollow out the bread: Cut the top off the sourdough loaf and hollow out the center, leaving about a 1-inch shell. Set aside the bread pieces for dipping.
- Sauté the aromatics: In a large skillet, heat butter and olive oil. Sauté onion, garlic, celery, and bell pepper until softened.
- Add seafood: Stir in shrimp and crab meat, cook briefly.
- Create the filling: Deglaze with white wine, if using. Add Old Bay seasoning, thyme, cayenne, cream, and cream cheese. Stir until smooth.
- Finish the filling: Mix in mozzarella and Parmesan until melted. Season with salt and pepper.
- Fill the bread bowl: Spoon the seafood mixture into the hollowed-out bread.
- Bake: Place the bread bowl on a baking sheet and bake for 15–20 minutes until hot.
- Garnish and serve: Garnish with parsley and serve with reserved bread chunks.
