Description

Turkey & Stuffing Roll Ups are a comforting and delicious baked dish featuring tender turkey breast cutlets rolled around a flavorful stuffing mix. This easy recipe combines seasoned turkey with moist stuffing and optional melted mozzarella cheese, all baked to perfection for a satisfying meal ideal for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Turkey Roll-Ups

  • 4 boneless, skinless turkey breast cutlets
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Stuffing

  • 1 box stuffing mix (approx. 6 ounces)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Prepare the stuffing: In a bowl, combine the stuffing mix, chicken broth, and melted butter. Stir thoroughly until the stuffing is evenly moistened and well combined. Set this mixture aside to absorb the liquid.
  2. Preheat oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish to prevent sticking and for easy cleanup.
  3. Season the turkey: Season each turkey breast cutlet on both sides with garlic powder, dried thyme, salt, and pepper ensuring even distribution of spices for flavor.
  4. Assemble the roll-ups: Place a spoonful of the prepared stuffing mixture in the center of each turkey cutlet. If using mozzarella cheese, sprinkle it evenly on top of the stuffing. Then carefully roll each turkey cutlet around the stuffing, securing the filling inside.
  5. Place in baking dish: Arrange all rolled turkey breast cutlets seam side down in the prepared baking dish to keep them intact while baking.
  6. Bake: Bake the turkey roll-ups in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the turkey is cooked through and the stuffing is hot. For a golden-brown top, broil for an additional 2-3 minutes if desired.
  7. Serve: Garnish the baked roll-ups with chopped parsley for a fresh touch. Serve warm with your favorite side dishes to complete the meal.

Notes

  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure turkey reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) for safe consumption.
  • Feel free to substitute mozzarella with your preferred cheese or omit it for a dairy-free version.
  • Leftover roll-ups can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • The recipe is easily doubled or halved depending on serving needs.
  • Adding a light drizzle of olive oil before baking can enhance browning and flavor.
